THE PFSA TALKS ABOUT THE FISHING INDUSTRY TO LOCAL SCHOOL PUPILS

On Thursday 8th February 2024, the PFSA delivered an educational presentation about the local fishing industry to children and staff at Plympton St Maurice Primary School.

Headteacher, Mr Rickard, commented: ‘Ed and Ashley visited today from the PFSA. They shared their knowledge about what it’s like to work in the fishing industry and inspired many children from Y5 and Y6.’ And a Y5 pupil also commented, ‘It was really good. I especially liked learning about the different types of fish.’

Having been thoroughly enjoyed by all, the PFSA plan to return to Plympton St Maurice Primary School in the summer term to deliver a second presentation. In addition to this, it is hoped that funding will be secured to enable these presentations to be rolled-out in schools across the region.
